Three fantastic mountain destinations
Switzerland reserves this summer the best mountain passes in a series of events known as Ride the Alps (wheel through the Alps), so that cyclists can climb without cars or motorcycles. Taking advantage of this initiative, you can enjoy one of the ideal destinations of Switzerland, the region of Lake Geneva, in the canton of Vaud. There are three classic mountain passes that are a challenge for the legs. Not in vain, for one the Tour of 2016 passed, and a gift for the view for its landscapes. One is the suffered Col de la Croix (1,778 meters), with 1,300 meters of unevenness in a stretch of 23 kilometers, one of the hardest in the country. The last slope is bordered by forests and crosses high mountain meadows framed by the Dents du Midi massif. This port connects Diablerets, Château d'Œx, Villars and Gryon. The other two ports are Col du Pillon (1,546 meters) and Col des Mosses (1,445 meters), which make the region a paradise for climbers. For lovers of mountain biking, Geneva reserves the valley of Joux through which the Grand Risoud passes. A 32-kilometer circuit that crosses the largest spruce forest in Europe. And just south of this valley is the Jura Vaudois Regional Natural Park, which can be crossed through the 120-km Bike Tour Parc Jura Vaudois route and enjoy spectacular forests, swamps and meadows. This is another destination that I will go to this summer.
