Schilthorn covered by Swiss Travel Pass

Unmatched 360° panoramic view over more than 200 mountain peaks: The Schilthorn of the Jungfraujoch region offers pure mountain magic.
Not only film stars get their money’s worth at this former shooting location for a James Bond movie: As of January 2018, holders of a Swiss Travel Pass enjoy the drive up to Schilthorn free of charge.
60° restaurant Piz Gloria: panoramic view in all its facets.
Even the half-hour ride up the mountain is impressive. From Interlaken by train to Lauterbrunnen and onwards with the bus, guests travel to the Stechelberg valley station in the Lauterbrunnental within 40 minutes. Then, passengers slide upwards in panoramic cabins to Grindelwald village, passing sheer rock faces and roaring waterfalls on the way. Continuing their journey to Mürren, they admire lovely alpine meadow sceneries and the lush green valley now far below. Of course, passengers may also board directly at Mürren. The arrival at the peak reveals a stunning panoramic view of the high alpine mountain world, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. True mountain enthusiasts visit the world’s first revolving mountain restaurant: Within 45 minutes, the comfortable 360° Restaurant Piz Gloria revolves once around itself.
Get your kicks: SKYLINE WALK and THRILL WALK.
Station Birg also offers a special glimpse of the unique mountain world of the Schilthorn area. On the panorama platform SKYLINE WALK, a thrill is guaranteed: Built as an extension of the Birg terrace, the platform leads over a vertical precipice and opens the view of the panorama as well as the seemingly bottomless deep. An even “airier” mountain adventure – for those who look for a true adrenaline kick– can be found on the THRILL WALK: a 200 meters long cliff walk – simply breathtaking!

In James Bond’s footsteps – 2'970 metres above sea level. Between October 1968 and May 1969, the Schilthorn saw the shooting of the legendary 007 movie "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The revolving restaurant offered a perfect base of operations for the villain Blofeld and was dubbed “Piz Gloria” in the film – a name that has stuck till this day. The BOND WORLD 007 opened its doors in summer 2013 and carries visitors away to an interactive exhibition around the famous secret agent.

Have breakfast like James Bond!

A culinary firework fit for James Bond! Brunch at our 360-degree revolving restaurant leaves nothing to be desired. Delicacies and regional products against a magnificent mountain backdrop. Daily until 14.00 hrs.

Three fantastic mountain destinations

Switzerland reserves this summer the best mountain passes in a series of events known as Ride the Alps (wheel through the Alps), so that cyclists can climb without cars or motorcycles. Taking advantage of this initiative, you can enjoy one of the ideal destinations of Switzerland, the region of Lake Geneva, in the canton of Vaud. There are three classic mountain passes that are a challenge for the legs. Not in vain, for one the Tour of 2016 passed, and a gift for the view for its landscapes. One is the suffered Col de la Croix (1,778 meters), with 1,300 meters of unevenness in a stretch of 23 kilometers, one of the hardest in the country. The last slope is bordered by forests and crosses high mountain meadows framed by the Dents du Midi massif. This port connects Diablerets, Château d'Œx, Villars and Gryon. The other two ports are Col du Pillon (1,546 meters) and Col des Mosses (1,445 meters), which make the region a paradise for climbers. For lovers of mountain biking, Geneva reserves the valley of Joux through which the Grand Risoud passes. A 32-kilometer circuit that crosses the largest spruce forest in Europe. And just south of this valley is the Jura Vaudois Regional Natural Park, which can be crossed through the 120-km Bike Tour Parc Jura Vaudois route and enjoy spectacular forests, swamps and meadows. This is another destination that I will go to this summer.
